Anarchists in Italy stop airplane to prevent deportation to Morocco.

On Wednesday, March 20th, news spread about the imminent deportation of Jamal, a comrade from Turin held in the detention center CPR of Gradisca d'Isonzo. Upon receiving the news, some comrades moved towards Milan Malpensa airport where they successfully accessed the runways and stood in front of the Royal Air Maroc plane bound for Casablanca, blocking it and delaying the flight. The video was shot by a comrade on the airport.
It was later discovered that Jamal had been taken to Bologna airport and deported to Morocco from there. However, there was still a person on the blocked plane at Malpensa whose deportation was likely prevented thanks to the plane blockade and the subsequent refusal of the pilot to carry out the deportation.
The comrades were detained until late in the evening; one companion was then released with the charge of disrupting public service, while the others are currently in prison awaiting arrest validation and are accused of resisting a public official, disrupting public service, and endangering transport safety.
In the face of the systemic violence of the machine for managing and deporting undocumented people in Europe, these moments of courage and determination remind us that not everything is inevitable and that it is possible to disrupt the mechanism. If the state's goal is to normalize deportation practices, isolate, and silence protests and revolts that flare up inside detention centers, we will not leave alone those who oppose this, both inside and outside. Blocking deportations is possible, and taking action on airport runways is even more powerful!
