Inmiddels zouden er in Caïro 100.000 mensen demonstreren en het aantal neemt nog steeds toe. In het hele land zijn er honderden demonstraties.
Naast leuzen die betrekking hebben op Egypte worden voortdurend leuzen geschreeuwd die naar Tunesië verwijzen.
De demonstraties vandaag zijn niet mede georganiseerd door het moslim broederschap de grootse georganiseerde oppositie groep. Maar zij hebben zich ook niet gedistantieerd.

Het centrale plein in Caïro Tahrir is na een veldslag nu in handen van de demonstranten. Politie heeft zich terug getrokken.
In de Noordelijke havenstad Alexandria 20.000 mensen op de been.

Na Twitter zouden nu in het gebied waar de meeste demonstranten zijn, rond Tahrir plein, ook mobiele telefoon verbindingen verbroken zijn.

Verder veel geruchten.
Ik neem aan dat iedereen dat wel weet Egypte is de belangrijkste bondgenoot van de VS en Israël in MO het is ook de regionale grootmacht. In de VS en Israël zullen er dan ook erg sombere gezichten te zien zijn.
Ze kunnen niet met goed fatsoen tegen de demonstraties zijn maar ook niet voor.

Er zijn 3 doden gevallen 2 in Suez, Mustafa Reda Mahmoud Abdelfattah, 20 jaar oud, en nog een persoon en 1 in Cairo.
Een demonstratie van tienduizenden mensen uit Shobar Cairo is door politie cordon gebroken en gaat naar Tahrir plein. De duizenden die daar al uren zijn als ook mensen in Alexandria spreken nu over een revolutie.
Oproep voor landelijke staking morgen en om alle grote pleinen te bezetten.
Opvallend Jazeera doet bijna geen verslag van de gebeurtenissen. Hier is veel kritiek op. Misschien is er druk uitgeoefend, bij Egypte gaat het om te grote belangen die in het spel zijn en/of terughoudendheid omdat vanochtend Al Jazeera is aangevallen in Tripoli Libanon en gisteren Ramalah Palestina.

Journalist Ian Lee vanochtend aangekomen in Suez en zojuist gesproken met oppositie prtijen: Finished talking with opposition party leaders. They say EVERY party is united in Suez to overthrow the govt if demands aren't met.
Tweede politiebureau in Suez is afgebrand. Suez heeft een lange traditie van verzet onder andere tijdens onafhankelijkheidsstrijd en in 1973 tijdens de Israëlische belegering. Suez heeft dan ook voor veel Egyptenaren een bijzondere betekenis.
Meerdere steden in Egypte zijn nu demonstraties en confrontaties met politie. Onder andere in Ismailiya loopt het nu uit de hand. De demonstraties daar zijn deels georganiseerd om de druk van Suez weg te nemen. In Suez wordt ook weer gedemonstreerd.
De politie van Ismailya is voor een deel overgeplaatst nar Suez. Leger is Suez schijnt verdeeld te zijn tussen niet optreden en voorlopig passief optreden.
Eerste demonstraties in Caïro beginnen op dit moment. Oproepen om in blokken van 8 uur elkaar af te lossen om zo politie en veiligheidsdiensten uit te putten. Gisteren klaagden politie mensen al dat ze uitgeput raakte door veel te lange diensten.

Ik heb denk ik te weinig tijd om ook hier nieuws regelmatig te posten. Zal het zo nu en dan proberen.
Om 6.00 opgestaan, zenuwachtig voor de dag van vandaag. Het is er op of er onder voor Egypte. 83 miljoen mensen. Maar ook voor de hele regio en verder is het beslissend of er een Arabische lente komt. Voor de met name jongeren, vol leven. revolutionair elan en toekomstverwachtingen, staat veel op het spel. 150 arrestanten hebben al een aanklacht 'poging tot omverwerping van de staat' max straf 25 jaar.
Wat je ook over het Moslim Broederschap denkt het is waarschijnlijk beslissend dat zij u mee doen. Zij hebben de netwerken in de arme buurten. Buurten waar miljoenen opeengepakt wonen. Als die mee gaan doen is het afgelopen voor Mubarak. Het moet lukken om iets meer als 1% van de mensen, 1 miljoen, op straat te krijgen. Lukt het niet dan zal de repressie enorm gewelddadig zijn.
Internet ligt plat in Egypte. Buiten telefoon geen communicatie mogelijk. Anti terreur elite eenheden in Caïro op straat. Vannacht zijn invallen gedaan in huizen waar Moslim Broederschap leden wonen. In arme buurten zijn milities van de overheid gesignaleerd. Opvallend stil op straat. Stilte voor de storm.
Internet werkt alleen nog in 5* hotels en het netwerk waar de Beurs en banken op zijn aangesloten.

First we have to consider that Mubarak card has been "burned" ... Also noteworthy is that his partner Mahmoud Abbas is now looking for a hole to hide after the revelations of Al Jazeera. East puppets and fearing that the radical Islam will find fertile ground, is trying to develop a controlled as possible, process to fuel popular resentment and send these dictators on permanent holidays hoping for a more efficient replacement .. On the other hand rips this ridiculous puppet theater that had been set up by Israel and the Bush administration in the past, those ridiculous dolls that were moving whenever and in whatever way Israel moved the strings. I can’t open twitter directly nor the Facebook again from TE Data network , other internet users are reporting the same using different ISP.
Blackberry users are reporting as well that the Blackberry Messenger “BBM” is currently blocked in Egypt according to security reasons.

News that twitter and Facebook are back "highly doubtful as I can't get access to them directly.
SMS service is completely down in Egypt , SMS is currently dead in all networks
There is unconfirmed news that BBM is back , I am not sure yet
Strong rumor that ISPs in Egypt got orders that to pull the plug on internet all day long tomorrow insh Allah.
