 DOEL - Het spookdorp Doel op de linker Scheldeoever bruiste zaterdagmiddag en -avond plotseling weer.
Meer dan duizend 'sympathisanten' van het dorp, dat moet wijken voor de uitbreiding van de Antwerpse haven, bevolkten de paar overgebleven straten. Daar werden ze vermaakt door artiesten, de dorpsdichter en andere entertainers. Dat alles in het kader van de actie Dat dorp verdient een gratis frietje. Komende zondag is het weer zo ver en zal de jaarlijkse 1-Mei demonstratie plaats vinden. Anarchistische Groep Nijmegen en Doorbraak organiseren samen busvervoer naar de 1mei demonstratie die dit jaar in Utrecht plaats vindt.
De kaartjes voor deze busreis kosten 7 euro. Opgeven voor een plek in de bus kan door een mail te sturen naar agn (a) riseup.net. Ook zijn er op zaterdag kaartjes te kopen in de Klinker aan de Van Broeckhuysenstr 46 tijdens Soepcafé op woensdag en Dagcafé op zaterdag.
De opstapplekken zijn als volgt:
Nijmegen – Arend Noorduijnstraat tegenover hotel Mercure – 12:00
Arnhem – Uitgang Sonsbeekzijde Centraal Station – 12:45
De bus zal na de demonstratie terug naar Nijmegen rijden via Arnhem.

Kambiz Roustayi burned his own body, a body that was rendered meaningless, and a body carrying a life reduced and captured by the state, for more than ten years. This tragic death of Kambiz is clear document of rightness in Iran and even in the Netherlands. Kambiz burned himself to protest against anti human policies in Iran and in the Netherlands. Protest to a regime that he forced to flee from, and to a government he asked to protection. But we know that kambiz's way to protest is not the real way. The real way is to fight against any kind of anti human policies. The real way is to be united and to be organized to fight for their right.

 'The anti-imperialist left, in the West at least, is painfully divided over the NATO-led intervention in Libya. On the one hand, such commentators as Paul Woodward, Gilbert Achcar, Phil Weiss, and me, believe the intervention is the least worst option, that there was no better alternative. On the other hand, John Pilger, Mahmoud Mamdani and many others, are wary of a new Iraq and oppose Western intervention on blanket principle.
Both positions are legitimate. Although I disagree in this case, I’m very pleased that the general gut response – if we must work by gut responses – is against intervention. But unfortunately a number of lesser figures, emotional oppositionists of the sort who qualmlessly rearrange reality to fit their personal agendas, have wilfully ignored facts on the Libyan ground, and even stooped so low as to slander the revolutionary Libyan people.'  Gister zijn er heftige rellen uitgebroken in het Villawood asielzoekercentrum in het Australische Sydeney. Het begon met een klein protest op het dak van een van de gebouwen, maar breidde zich snel uit tot een rel van meer als 100 gevangenen. 9 gebouwen zijn (deels) afgebrand. De oproerpolitie moest ingeet worden om er een eind aan te maken.
