CALL OUT: 1st of May - Student strike, solidarity with the workers. #1world1struggle.
The first of May should be free for everyone, not just the bureaucrats!
The 1st of May student committee is calling out to all students and teachers to join us in battle and strike on the first of May.
Last months have seen a tremendous change in universities. Boards have ruptured, buildings have been captured: it's time to broaden our struggle and stand in solidarity with all struggle against neoliberalism. On the wonderful day of the first of May, we have some actions planned that will coincide with similar actions worldwide. But apart from the educational struggle we will try to join hands with the workers, the refugees and countless other groups that are beaten down or marginalized by capitalism. The easiest way to join the fight is going on strike for that day and plan some actions with friends or look around for existing groups that will of course join in on the fun.
You will hear more from these groups as the day approaches, keep your ears open and your spare set of black clothing ready!
The possibilities for actions are only limited by your imagination; But here are some suggestions for you and few friends...
- pin a red square to your clothing to
show support for the strike
- Blockade university buildings with
bodies and other means
- Go out into the city with your friends
and repaint the world in your image
- Drop Banners off UVA buildings, and
other locations with slogans of dissent
- Occupy spaces such as cafeterias and
hold lectures on radical pedagogy with
free tea and coffee
- take half an hour to educate yourself
and your classmates; seek out
information about the attacks on our
education, talk about the issues...
- Be creative, and realize that
TOGETHER WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE
AND EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
