BIRTHDAY CARDS FOR MUMIA ABU-JAMAL
32 YEARS INNOCENT IN JAIL

dear people, on thursday 24 april 2014, Mumia Abu-Jamal will become 60 years.
Unfortunally, he has to celebrate his birthday in the prison, where he survived 32 years.
Mumia's conviction and deathsentence are relics of a time and place,that was notorious for police-abuse and racial discrimination.
He spent 30 years innocent on deathrow. In dec. 2011 they changed the deathpenalty into lifesentence without parole.
(mumia himself calls it 'slow deathrow'.) In holland lifesentence means 30 years, in the U.S.A., lifesentence means the whole life.
(in mumia's department are guys from 18 years and men in wheelchairs from over 70 years!)
The state couldn't kill him, as there is no proof againgst mumia and because of the worldwide campaignes, supported by
Amnesty International, Nelson Mandela(*),Desmond Tutu, U.N.,Rage againgst the machine and many,many others.
Mumia abu-jaml is an african-american reporter and political activist. He was a former black phanter.(they were people who fed 1000ds
of poor children,every day!). He mainly wrote about racism and policebrutality.
In the jail he wrote 6 books,...by hand....no internet. In 1981 mumia get involved in a shooting, where 1 white cop (member of FOP,
an ultra rightwing policeunion) got killed. Mumia was badly injured ,but survived;and got wrongly convicted for murder on this white
cop, by the very conservative judge Sabo (also member of FOP)
His trial was a 'sick joke',full of lies,intimidation, corruption, violence and racism. However mumia didn't give up and so do we.
We want to show mumia and the state as well, that we didn't forgot mumia and all the other innocent people sitting there.
Therefore we want to write many,many birthsdaycards to mumia.
Let's all help him...write him....come to the manifestation on thursday 24 april, museumplein opposite the U.S.-consulate, from 4 till 6 o,clock.
There will be several actions worldwide, to demand his freedom.
