RESISTANCE WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE CELLS´ WALLS BREAK DOWN
Resistance will continue
Date: October 20th, 2000: Hundreds of prisoners began the hunger strike
Date: November 19th, 2000: 1st team of deathfasters joined
Date: November 29th, 2000: 2nd team of deathfasters joined
Date: December 14th, 2000: 3rd team of deathfasters joined
Date: December 19th-22nd, 2000: Tens of prisoners were killed, tens of them
sacrificed themselves in order to stop massacre. Now, their resistance takes
place in the cells.
Date: May 11th, 2001: 4th team of deathfasters joined
Date: June 3rd, 2001: 5th team of deathfasters joined
Date: July 28th, 2001: 6th team of deathfasters joined
Date: September 26th, 2001: 7th team of deathfasters joined
Date: May 1st, 2002: 8th team of deathfasters joined
The Death fast is continuing.
There have been 92 martyrs till now.
Some of them fell martyr in prisons. After hundreds of days of hunger marathon,
their bodies which were skeleton and full of marks of torture, were given to
their families.
And some fell martyr outside while supporting death fast with death fast itself,
and with actions. They were resisting to strengthen the voice of resistance, and
that´s why they have been arrested many times, threatened and tortured.
The regime in our country calls the death fast resisters as "terrorists."
It is probably the most dim wetted demagogy of the world.
Hunger strikes and death fasts are the most peaceful actions from the people in
the world.
This claim means that Gandhi was between the dangerous terrorists of the world.
In fact however the resisters don´t harm anybody else than themselves; their
only weapons are their bodies and lives.
Secondly, if there is any state in the world to criminalize any other than
herself, it is this regime. Her crime records are not unknown for you, too.
Which state is most punished in European Human Rights Court, and sentenced to
pay astronomic compensation to her victims? Is there any other state which is
oppressing her people so much including feeding excrement? No need to explain so
far; look at these last 600 days of death fast: Prisoners and resisters were
burnt alive... fed by force in order to stop the resistance despite any kind of
medical ethic crushed down by security forces and fascist doctors as well and
erased their memories and become living deaths... raped... still been under
isolation torture...
FOR WHAT?
Everything is rootied in this question. Deathfast itself is a method to win your
rights. today, in Turkey, it is also reason for repression. Supporting the
resistance, even mentioning the demands are now "crimes" due to the anti-terror
law. Also, if you do this, you can be throw in the same F-type prisons which is
the cause for this on going resistance, into isolation. It means resistance
itself and support for it have become the same thing.
In such a country you have to dare the perils of dying for a request, if you
really pursue these request. That´s why those TAYAD families and just released
prisoners who where ""temporarily released to gain medical threathment"
continued with their deathfast outside, were attacked many times and at the end,
were KILLED in raid after raid in Küçükarmutlu, were burnt alive just like on
November 19th-22nd. That´s why the "houses of resistance" were seized by the
police and were unlawfully turned into police stations.
THERE ARE HUMAN LIVES BEHIND THE STATISTICAL NUMBERS...
The attached documents to this article are just a statistical summary of human
right violations of the state of Turkey. This summary cannot display the whole
truth. Furthermore this summary shows human lives as just digits. There is no
place in this summary nor of suffering of tens of thousands neither of
oppression they encountered.
THE SAME FOR THE ONGOING 600-DAYS-RESISTANCE
Untill now, There are 91 martyrs and more than 400 handicapped. Digits are
dropping very easy from mouth and pen. But under them - there are nearly 500
lives.
This is almost a picture of a small war. More even, you cannot find any war else
with forces so unequal as this current struggle in Turkey. One side: An
oppression- and cruel machine that possesses an armed force of hundreds of
thousands: the state; other side: a handful of people bethind walls, hundred
percent isolation, being expected to rot...
If some are ready to die for a demand it means they are strong. And those others
who are trying to destroy anyone instead of carrying out this request, are weak.
The MGK (National Security Council), its cabinet, Minister of Justice, Interior
Minister, are weak.
In our country it is very rare to that something is published in the press about
the deathfast.
Doubtless, there were those who tried to write down, to describe their ideas,
impressions and feelings. But many of them were fired and the rest were brought
to DGM´s (State´s Security Courts) trials by the in the name of the Minister of
Justice in accordance of the anti-terror law. In this way the press is
paralyzed, silenced. In this way they are trying to bring down the resistance.
With this strategie the leading terrorist regime ruling our country, makes an
enormous stupidity.
You cannot destroy anything with ignoring. Only the number of deaths and
handicapped increase in this way; but the deathfast, the resistance, is
continuing.
It is very clear in this struggle who is in favour off compromise, who is aiming
to destroy. Very short time ago the massacre 19th-22nd December, two days
before the massacre Minister of Justice declared that "F types may be delayed."
Prisoners asked for an official declaration about this. Two days later the
massacre was carried out and all the prisoners were moved into F-type prisons.
On March-April 2001, Minister of Justice stated that they would build common
places in prisons for prisoners. The prisoners said that the Minister was making
a show. The minister took souvenir photos with maffioso in these "common places"
as advertisements for press, saying "prisoner are very satisfied with it."
In May-June 2001, the Minister of Justice stated that they would install
"Prisons Observation Commissions" in order to pursue the human rights violations
in the prisons. Prisoners said these commissions were full of killers. These
Commissions were composed with police chiefs, commanders of the gendarme,
prosecutors and authorities from the Ministry of Justice.
In September-November 2001, Minister of Justice declared they would reconsider
isolation if the prisoners would finish with the hungerstrike. So the Bar of
lawyers from the three biggest cities and some democratic mass organizations
made a proposal so-called "three locks, three doors" in order to put an end to
death fast.
The Prisoners said that if this proposal is accepted, they were willing
compromise however the governement decided go for the isolation...
The government of Turkey and its Minister of Justice played their roles
miserably. They used to say the words "they-don´t-compromise" and watched
deaths, killed, handicapped. They cannot continue this game anymore. Now,
prisoners refuse lies and frauds of Ministry of Justice saying that "the only
target of resistance is that the walls of cells will be broken down!" Any other
initiative except of this is in vain. We will continue untill they accept this
demand.
There are 91 deaths only for accepting of this ordinary, simple and democratic
request, and hundreds will die.
ISOLATION CELLS MEANS DEATH THROUGH TORTURE
To say the truth, you have experiments and knowledge about it. In "The Royal
Game", Stefan Zweig wrote about a man locked for years under isolation by Nazis.
Nazis really were masters of this. After then, other countries, including
European countries and USA, took over their inheritance. They also brought it to
our country.
THEY DID THIS WHILE CARRYING OUT MASSACRES
Now, who are responsible for this? Not only the government of our country and
its ministers. Also the European Union that supports Turkey in every possible
way in support of the F-type prisons - and which considers it a pre-condition
for Turkey becoming a member of the EU - is responsible as well.
It is so clear as the EU Committee against Torture criticizes Turkey in only one
point: there is more violence than needed - that´s what they said, for instance,
when evaluating December 19th massacre.
How similar to its reaction towards Israel that kills Palestinians every day,
every hour!
THIS IS AN APPEAL.
We are calling all the European countries to correct these mistakes.
It is not just some country but Turkey, and in Turkey the struggle for
democratic rights is vital. It is inherent in the Turkish state´s nature. This
state is a fascist one; that´s why its people have to take all risks including
death, to gain democratic rights, even for the simplest ones. Deathfast
resisters do that. Those who consider themselves as democrats, progressives or
even just human beings, have to support this resistance.
ISOLATION MEANS DEATH WITH TORTURE!
RESISTANCE WILL CONTINUE UNTIL WALLS BROKEN DOWN!

Het grootste probleem dat de Turkse hongerstakers hebben is denk ik, P.R.
Ze "concurreren" om aandacht met de Palestijnse zelfmoordaanslagen en verliezen dit op alle fronten. Veel minder spectaculair, zo´n hongerstaking. Eigenlijk slaapverwekkend saai.
Ze hebben ook alléén zichzelf ermee. Geen wonder dat de Turkse staat weinig onderneemt: de Palestijnen houden hun uit de wind en ondertussen lost het probleem van de politieke gevangenen vanzelf op.
Als ik als Turkse politieke activist om aandacht zou vragen van de westerse media, ik zou om te beginnen iemand zoeken die fatsoenlijk Engels spreekt en in staat is om een coherent betoog te schrijven. Jezelf vergelijken met Ghandi is natuurlijk belachelijk.

Ze zeggen dat het benoemen van hongerstaking als zijnde terroristisch, belachelijk is.

Meneer Wilbert,
U schreef dat wij konkurreren met de palestijnen om aaandacht. Wij konkurreren niet, wij vechten tegen een fascistisch regime.
Wij zijn sollidair met de palestijnse strijd.
Als jij denkt dat dood gaan door hongerstaking een saaie kwestie moet je maar naar james Bond films gaa kijken en je niet met politiek inlaten.
Ik wil niet ingaan op je kritiek op de coherentie van bovenstaande betoog, maar ik wil je vragen je fatsoen te bewaren in kwesties als deze waarin mensen het leven laten in een strijd tegen fascisme.
Je moet ook eerst leren lezen en begrijpen wat er wordt gezegd. wij vergelijken ons niet met Ghandi. Bovendien waarom kan dan niet? Is hij een god ofzo?
Ghandi heeft alleen maar een kort durende hongerstaking gehouden. Maar de hongerstaking van de politieke gevangenen in Turkije heeft al aan 91 mensen het leven gekost. Sommigen zijn ook niet gestorven van de honger maar vermoord door staatsgeweld van de staat Turkije. Er zijn er bij die levend zijn verbrand, er zijn er bij die dood zijn geslagen.
Wij vergelijken ons trouwens ook niet met Bruno, omdat die vroeger levend is verbrand.
