cso les naus eviction communique 2 [barcelona
les naus - 25.07.2003 05:41

Second comuniqué from the CSO Les Naus as an answerd to the sentence that ask us the eviction of the house.

Are there more wars than are seen on television? Yes, there are other wars. Wars which are not read in remote places, wars in which there are no battles between troops, nor aerial bombardments; wars by definiton, that do not adopt the cvlasical form of military confrontation. We refer to the everday wars, the wars which we read every day in our lives. We do not have to travel to distant deserts to assist in these. This city of Barcelona as any other city is a battle field.

The insecurity of work, social control, the foreigner laws, the aggression against women, urban speculation, these are the battles of the Quotidien War. A war which they have decalared upon all of us, in which we all are the enemy to be destroyed.

Now we assist in a new episode of this permanent war: the intention to evict Social Occupied Centre "Les Naus". It seems that social centres form part of the that enemy which must be exterminated. It seems there is a need to end cultural activites, auto-organisation, with the experimentation of forms of liberty and community. It seems there is a need destroy us the people who know how to combat fear, solitude, disgust at the lives they have obliged us to suffer.

It is most cynical that the eviction of a social centre which has developed cultural activities shall deem to be an aperative, yet another, to the celebrations of the year 2004, the year called "Forum of the Cultures PLC". Organised by the Council of Barcelona, this forum has as objective, so they say, the promotion of dialogue between cultures, and reflection in trun of the values of Peace, of sustainable development, and Cultural diversty. They speak of peace, they who promote wars, without thinking any further than one of the sponsers of their forum, the military technology manufacturer Indra. They speak of sustainable development they who have given to Barcelona, the speculation and design of a large and lucrative business rather than as somewhere to live. They speak of multi-culturalism those same who persecute immigrants and have organised the hunt and expulsion of them from the centre of the city. They speak of dialogue between cultures they who sponser evictions, they who are dismantling the social centres, they who sponser the disappearance of ways of life where new forms of society were experimented with.

the war has not ended. the war reads on every day. We are all the enemy to be destroyed.
