Herdenking racistische moord

Op 20 augustus 1983 werd Kerwin, een Antiliaanse jongen, vermoord terwijl hij op straat liep. De moordenaar, Nico Bodemeijer, vond dat Kerwin geen recht had om op straat te lopen omdat hij zwart was.

Deze racistische moord word jaarlijks herdacht.

20 Augustus 1983:

Kerwin, een Antilliaanse jongen, liep met een vriend over straat in Amsterdam toen hij werd lastig gevallen door een groep skinheads. Hij ging een snackbar in maar toen hij naar buiten kwam zei ��n van de skinheads dat Kerwin geen recht had om daar te lopen and werd Kerwin uitgescholden. Toen Kerwin zei dat hij kon lopen waar hij wilde werd hij neergestoken. Degene die Kerwin in zijn maag stakhad de woorden '100% blank' op zijn arm getatoe�erd.

Kerwin rende naar de Dam, ging een taxi in en vroeg om naar het ziekenhuis gebracht te worden. De taxichauffeur zei dat hij geen bloed op zijn bank wilde hebben, haalde Kerwin uit de taxi, legde hem op de grond en zei dat Kerwin moest wachten op een ambulance. Kerwin lag daar terwijl omstanders stonden te kijken hoe het bloed uit zijn lichaam zich tussen de stenen van de Dam verspreidde. Na bijna 20 minuten kwam de ambulance om hem naar het ziekenhuis te brengen. Kerwin stierf kort daarna.

Zowel Kerwin als zijn moordenaar waren 15 jaar oud.

Ieder jaar op 20 augustus word deze racistische moord herdacht. Dit jaar helpt AFA deze herdenking te organiseren.Wij roepen iedereen op naar de herdenking te komen. Vanaf 14.00 uur is er een middagprogramma op de Dam. Vanaf 18.00 uur is er een manifestatie op de Dam waarna er word gelopen naar het Vondelpark.

AFA is nog op zoek naar mensen die aankondigingsposters en flyers willenverspreiden. Neem contact met ons op en we sturen je het gewenste aantalexemplaren toe.
