Occupied factory in Spain!
Workers International Leauge - 07.03.2007 20:39

Threatened with mass layoffs and the closure of the plant, workers at the Delphi plant in Cadiz, Spain have occupied the factory, demanding that it be nationalized under workers' control, calling for a city-wide general strike to stop the layoffs from happening. The attacks of the multinational bosses against the auto industry is a worldwide phenomenon. We must stand by our union brothers and sisters internationally - their struggle is our struggle!

We, the undersigned, wish to send our fellow trade unionists in Cadiz, Spain, our solidarity and support. We have witnessed and been affected by the assault on Delphi workers in the United States. Delphi, along with the other auto companies here have been attempting for force concession contracts on our union nationally, by means of plant closures and mass layoffs. DaimlerChrysler has announced that they want to close a plant, a distribution center and lay off 13,000 of our brothers and sisters.
Solidarity with the Spanish Delphi workers who are fighting back against the bosses!
