Police joining the Fuck the Police demonstration
Rebelact - 22.12.2007 12:49

Friday Dec. 21 there was a powerful demonstration against increasing police violence, repression and discrimination. Started at the Spui in Amsterdam around 16.00 pm with some speakers. Really nice some police in civilian clothes ('stillen') joined the protest march! It clearly showed there's even growing resistance amongst the cops.

Three of them introdoced them selves as Inspector Green, Inspekteur Grün and Inspecteur Vert. They did whatever they could, to help their dear collegues: these very first policemen in solidarity with this necessary protest against increasing police violence, repression and discrimination.

Please realise walking in the demo isn't easy at all for these brave policemen!
Inspector Green, Inspekteur Grün and Inspecteur vert wanted to avoid they should feel lonely amongst the protesters. Therefore they gave them the company they needed.

However: joining the whole march was for some of them too much. At the Spui the inspectors recognised someone in a brown coat. But not 100% sure if he really was a collegue. After a while he already left there.
Three other ones left the march when te demo arrived at the Stopera. After passing the Blauwbrug they turned to the right. One of them (with a Palestinian scarf) was a police photographer. For sure he will try to mobilise more collegues with his pictures: "Look at this pics; you should have been there!".

A few policemen joined almost the whole demo. One of them we supported especially at the Prins Hendrikkade. Maybe he was a little nervous: several times he walked in and out of the march. He finally left at the Damrak. The 'last' one left when he passed the Vrankrijk. He run away! He was the one throwing simple firework when the march passed Policestation Y-tunnel. It wasn't a provocation; it was only to say "hello!" to his collegues who were afraid to join! But for sure: next time there will be more ('silent') blue in solidarity with the protesters!

Despite the low temperatures a good crowd of motivated poeple showed up to demonstrate against the increasing police violence in the Netherlands!!
Among streets filled with people spending their money for the Xmas days, we showed that there's still a bunch of humans really aware whats going round in our so called free society!!
We gathered @ the Spui with the famous "Lieverdje"statue, after 3 really true speeches, the Demo started walking!!
With music fireworks banners and vlaques, we were clearly visible!!!
