heli_surveillance in amsterdam

yesterday, friday 25 september 2009, a quite strange scenery took place at vondelpark in amsterdam. for no apparent reason one helicopter was providing live_coverage for state authorities for 30minutes. it was loud and disrupting. people were uncomfortable and kept looking up, when it would finally be gone. i was moving around the park and could not identify any bigger crowd to cause disruption... which would imply the police search for minor illegal activities or business as usual.

both options demonstrate foremost one thing *state power whatsoever*.
it is quite quiet from the movement side opposing state surveillance.
is this experience *still* exceptional or is it business as usual *already* in amsterdam?

RECLAIM THE CITY!!

Zeik niet man.
robbery
nn - 26.09.2009 16:30

Possibly this had to do with the fact that on Overtoom (next to vondelpark) a robbery took place on a shoe shop and the armed robbers got away.

Getting paranoid? Dammn, get a life. As long you can get one...
Paranoide gezemel
nn - 26.09.2009 18:16

Overtoom afgezet wegens overval

maybe so
rabbit - 26.09.2009 22:14

i don't mind the paranoia statement, especially since i was apparently wrong. but it's still astonishing to what extent such riot_cop_action is recognized as business as usual by some of the commentators... as if the cops served their interests? well, maybe so... but let's self-critically address the crucial question for what it is: don't we all like *our capitalism*?

Tegen paranoia, tegen de politiestaat
nn - 26.09.2009 23:52

Apprehending armed criminals would even be necessary in an anarchist society. The poster is just a tin-foil hat paranoiac directing attention away from GENUINE police brutality.

proporties - 27.09.2009 00:05
