Op zaterdag 18 september organiseren de Dolle Mollies een info- & discussieavond over de invloed van de schoonheidsindustrie en advertentie-beelden op het (zelf)beeld van vrouwen.

Onder andere aandacht voor de manier waarop het vrouwelijk lichaam tot object wordt gemaakt en gebruikt wordt om producten te kopen, waarbij tegelijkertijd schoonheidsidealen en gender- stereotypen worden vastgesteld.
Met clips uit de documentaires Beperkt Houdbaar en Killing us Softly 3: Advertising’s image of women.
Tijdens de avond willen we vooral aanzetten tot een goede discussie over dit thema, en wellicht dat we na afloop geinspireerd zijn om met onze eigen boodschap de straat op te gaan?
Zaterdag 18 september, MKZ, Eerste Schinkelstraat 14-16, Amsterdam.
Deur open 19.30, start 20.00.

On saturday 18th september, de Dolle Mollies organize another info- and discussionnight. The evening is about the impact of the beauty industry and advertising- images on the (self)image of women. Focus on how the objectification of the female body is used for selling products, setting beauty- standards and gender-stereotypes at the same time.
With clips from the documentaries Beperkt Houdbaar (with english subtitles) and Killing us Softly 3: Advertising’s image of women.
During this evening we hope to open up a good debate around this theme, and maybe after that we are inspired to act and bring some messages into the streets?
