This satuday Ojala, together with Mexican human rigths laywer Andres del Campo Ortega, organizes a information/discussion evening on the topics of paramilitarization, the ongoing war on drugs and the criminalization of social protest in Mexico.




This weekend Mexican human right lawyer Carlos Andres del Campo Ortega will be visiting the Netherlands. Together with Carlos Andres Ojala organizes a information/discussion evening this Saturday on the topics of paramilitarization, the ongoing war on drugs and the criminalization of social protest in Mexico. During this evening Andres will be telling us about his human right activism in Mexico, he will show some of the videos and photos he made on the mentioned topics and will be more than willing to answer question of the public. Come all and/or send this invitation to those who might be interested to come.

Er is wat herleving van sociale protesten, maar de beweging probeert opnieuw op te bouwen en was na het fiasco van de massale protestbeweging rond de vervalste verkiezingen en Oaxaca 2006, murwgeslagen.

Het is ook AMLO (Andres Manual Lopez Obrador) die volksprotesten probeert op te bouwen; met name over zaken die de meeste Mexicanen bezighoudt zoals de fors gestegen electra prijzen als energieproducernd land dat dit bijna gratis produceert.

Momenteel is de Zocalo van de hoofdtad bezet door een campament van een dergelijke beweging, maar de support is nog gering.

Verder was het in Oaxaca flink uit de hand gelopen wat weken terug en zijn de massale protesten bijna weer terug naar het bˇniveau van voor het fiasco van 2006. Vandaag waren er door Seccion 22(/APPO) 37 snelwegen bezet in Oaxaca.

Ook was ik getuige in de hoofdstad van een demonstratie van "Frente Popular Fransisco Villa - FPFVI". Dit waren zo'n 1500 betogers; velen in rood en deels 'bewapend' met knuppels en spandoeken met dikke stokken. Ze schijnen de ondemocratische overheid nauw verbonden met maffia en corruptie niet te erkennen, dus ook niet dat de daaraan verbonden politie meer straatrecht of recht op geweld zou hebben dan zij. Toen ik verder moest naar een afspraak, zag ik poltieversterkingen in de richting van het centrum gaan.
