GOING TO LIBYA ON PEACE DELEGATION

A twenty-five person peace delegation made up of academics,
lawyers, journalists and professionals will be departing
for Libya on 9th April, to call for an immediate ceasefire
in Libya and an end to all hostilities. This is the first
half of a two stage process that will involve
reconciliation talks with tribal leaders, government
officials and key opposition figures.
BRITISH PEACE DELEGATION HEADS FOR LIBYA TO CALL FOR AN END
TO THE KILLING
LONDON - ENGLAND
A twenty-five person peace delegation made up of academics,
lawyers, journalists and professionals will be departing
for Libya on 9th April, to call for an immediate ceasefire
in Libya and an end to all hostilities. This is the first
half of a two stage process that will involve
reconciliation talks with tribal leaders, government
officials and key opposition figures. After almost three
weeks of continual bombing by Coalition forces and heavy
fighting in key cities, countless civilians have lost their
lives and there appears to be no end in sight to the untold
suffering of the people. An immediate end to the conflict
and the protection of civilian lives is the aim of this
mission.
The Civilians for Peace Delegation will be meeting with key
officials and parties to the conflict and calling for:
1. An immediate ceasefire and an end to hostilities from
all sides, including NATO.
2. Immediate peace talks between representatives of
government and the opposition.
3. Fair and honest arbitration between the opposing forces.
4. The immediate positioning of credible and impartial
International Observers to monitor a possible ceasefire.
5. Humanitarian corridors to provide Medical assistance,
food and water to civilians in the affected areas.
In addition, the Civilians for Peace delegation will be
calling on the African Union to take a lead role in
arbitrating peace and for the United Nations to call an
immediate meeting of the General Assembly to discuss the
Libyan situation and the broadening crisis in the region.
The delegation will be leaving on Saturday 9th April @
5.45pm from Terminal 4, Heathrow Airport. There will be a
press statement made from Terminal 4 @ 2.30pm and members
of the public are encouraged to attend and to support the
delegation.

If these people are going to Libya to stay with their friend the dictator why don't they just stay there to hang next to their friend when Tripoli fals?

Interesting stuff.
Gar, I have criticized you before here; my main issue is with your blog (like many blogs) seemingly "merely collecting and passing on" news. But it is of the essence to know where any such news originates; you ought to be clearer about this. Added to this, you (like many blogs) regularly just give it a slight slant; by adding or omitting a word in a title, just giving it that extra personal touch in a brief caption, etc. I call that unethical, you (like many others) are making others speak for you, with their intentions not necessarily being the same as your own. (Moreover, you sometimes pass on this stuff to third channels with just a slightly different slant still to the slant given on your blog.)
It would be nice to know where you stand, but if your blog has any "about me" section at all, it must be in Greek, which I do not read. Since you purposely go out to seek and address an international audience however, it might suit you to have such a caption in English at least.
(Or, in your own words, taken from your blog, and the only caption to the effect it does seem to feature: "The objectivity of the presentation of news is almost impossible. So I simply reproduce what others say, and that seems to be quite effective. A continuous «collage» of news or “arpakola / paste-copy” .. with a few comments of mine.." I call that dishonest, you go quite a bit further than that in your approach, and quite clearly do maintain a particular stance. So, why not have it out in the open.)
In the case at hand, and granted there is a small-print source to it on your blog, this piece appears to originate with the blog "Sons of Malcolm." There (  http://sonsofmalcolm.blogspot.com/2011/04/sons-of-malcolm-going-to-libya-o-peace.html ), we read that it is not just "a twenty-five person peace delegation" of certain "civilians for peace" going to Libya, but (they are themselves ambiguous about it in their various captions) according to their title it is expressly the "Sons of Malcom going to Libya on Peace Delegation." Such nuances would be important to know to any readership, wouldn't you agree.
The fact that the above is undersigned by, among others, one Sukant Chandan, apparently the keeper of said Sons of Malcolm blog, would seem to support this.
Now, it so happens Louis Proyect just came up with this comment on Mr. Chandan that people might like to read: "MRZine regular circulates anti-Semitic filth," http://louisproyect.wordpress.com/2011/04/10/mrzine-regular-circulates-anti-semitic-filth/ .
And so the plot seems to ever thicken... What people passing on the news can do in the meantime, and at the very least, is of course to let there be no doubt about where they collect it from, and where their readers are looking at original wording, or at the interjections by those passing it on, or by third parties still.
