Op last van de politie lopen we geen demonstratie meer vanaf het Malieveld maar gaan we direct naar het SPUIPLEIN, voor het Stadhuis, op loopafstand van het station CS.
Op het station en Malieveld zullen mensen die niets weten van de wijziging van de locatie, opgevangen en doorgestuurd worden naar het Spuiplein.
Wij zijn vluchtelingen, gedwongen op straat te leven in Nederland. Wij zijn samengekomen
om onze mensenrechten te verdedigen. Wij hebben allemaal vergelijkbare problemen en
daarom hebben we besloten samen naar Den Haag gaan. De hoofdreden voor deze
demonstratie is het feit dat wij geen toegang hebben tot onze basisbehoeften zoals werk,
onderdak, eten en gezondheidszorg en dit leidt tot dramatische problemen voor ons en onze
gezinnen. Wij zijn slachtoffers van een inhumaan, hard en onrechtvaardig
vreemdelingenbeleid. We pleiten voor een menselijk en rechtvaardig beleid.
Omdat de situatie voor asielzoekers en andere migranten zonder papieren steeds verder
verslechtert willen wij een stem zijn voor alle vluchtelingen die op straat wonen. Wij willen
de aandacht vestigen op het feit dat het beleid van deze regering mensen dwingt tot een
uitzichtloos leven op straat zonder onderdak, hulp, eten, etc. Wij kunnen zelfs niet in de
daklozenopvang terecht. We worden uitgesloten van de maatschappij. We mogen alleen van
lucht en liefde leven.
De regering wijst ook onterecht asielaanvragen af of verdraait de verhalen van asielzoekers
om dit te kunnen doen. Onze redenen om naar Nederland te vluchten waren oprecht en we
kunnen echt niet meer naar huis omdat de situatie daar dat niet toelaat. Wij willen hier dan
ook demonstreren tegen de criminalisering van migranten zonder papieren en tegen de
uitsluiting van migranten uit de derde wereld. Wij zijn geen criminelen en hebben het recht
deel uit te maken van de maatschappij. Wij hebben het recht om als mensen behandeld te
worden. Wij zijn vrij en gelijkwaardig geboren, en eisen waardig behandeld te worden.
De groep ‘Vluchtelingen op Straat’ is in Utrecht opgericht in juli 2011. Wij hebben een
demonstratie in Utrecht georganiseerd op 5 juli jl. om aandacht te vragen voor de
mensenrechten van asielzoekers en andere migranten zonder papieren op straat. Wij hebben
uw steun nodig bij de demonstratie in Den Haag op 27 september a.s. dus komt allen! Op
deze manier kunnen we een sterke alliantie bouwen om de rechten van asielzoekers en
migranten zonder papieren in Nederland te verdedigen.

Refugees protest against their
forced living on the street
We are refugees forced to live on the streets in the Netherlands. We have come together to
defend our basic human rights. We all face similar problems and that is why we will protest
together in The Hague on the 27th of September. The main reason for this protest is that we
don’t have our basic needs like right to work, shelter, food and health care covered and as a
result we face the greatest problems any human can face. We are victims of inhuman, harsh
and unjust immigration policy. We advocate for a human, prudent and fair policy.
Because of the worsening situation of asylum seekers and undocumented migrants in the
Netherlands we are here to give a voice to all the refugees on the street and to protest
against the government policy of forcing people to live on the street with no possibilities and
nowhere to go. We don't even have access to shelters for homeless people. We are excluded
from society. We are only allowed to live from air and love.
It also happens that the Government rejects asylum claims on unjust grounds or distorts
asylum seekers’ stories in order to reject their claims. We came to the Netherlands for sound
reasons and know that we cannot go back because of the situation in our home countries.
We are also protesting against the criminalisation of undocumented migrants and the
exclusion of migrants from Third World countries. We are not criminals and deserve to be a
part of society. We have the right to be treated as human beings. We were born free and
equal and we demand to be treated with dignity.
The group “Refugees on the street” was formed in Utrecht in July 2011. We arranged a
protest in Utrecht on the 5th of July in support of human rights of asylum seekers and
undocumented migrants. We ask for your support and participation in the protest in The
Hague on the 27th of September, so we can build a strong alliance to defend the rights of
asylum seekers and undocumented migrants in the Netherlands. There is a preparatory
meeting at STIL in Utrecht on the 16th of September at 5pm. All organizations and individuals
that want to support us are very welcome to join the meeting or the demonstration in The
Hague.
