I only bring up the following, because it points to political action that we can take to try to prevent political chaos in the near future. LaRouche, presidential candidate, who was in military intelligence, I think, and who has maintained ties to the intelligence community ever since he left, has a press release on who was ultimately responsible for the Sep 11 attacks - it's at  http://larouchein2004.net/pages/writings/2001/011223zbigsept11.htm -- . He says it was an attempted coup against Bush, which is still being attempted via dupes', McCain and Lieberman's, efforts to pressure Bush to attack Iraq. [I’ll try to get one or 2 follow-up posts up on McCain and Lieberman right after this, along with suggested political action]. Here are some excerpts. I haven't read the whole thing yet. --

For those who are able and willing to accept the way in which history actually works, the evidence provided by the U.S. events of Sept. 11th permitted but one concise conclusion: The crucial developments inside the U.S.A., between the bookends of approximately 08:45 and 11:00 h EDT, were a reflection of an attempted military coup d'état against the U.S. government of President George W. Bush. I first reached that conclusion early during the first hour of that interval, while I was being interviewed in a nearly two-hour, live radio broadcast. My broadcast remarks during that interval have become an important integral part of those developments themselves, not only inside the U.S.A., but in their radiating effects throughout much of the world besides.[1] … The first, most ominous possibility, was that the relevant, pre-established security safeguards, which had been instituted earlier against such types of contingencies, had, previously, simply been allowed to deteriorate to virtual non-relevance, that itself a very dangerous state of national security, or, The second, more likely possibility, was that some top-ranking U.S. military personnel "at the switch," turned off a significant part of those standing security pre-arrangements which would have been sufficient, at a minimum, to defeat, at the least, the attack upon the Pentagon itself.[2] For any person with knowledge comparable to my experience in the field of strategic ballistic missile defense-policy [LaRouche was the first to propose the Strategic Defense Initiative to Reagan in the early 80s to end nuclear blackmail], the attack on the Pentagon, with the thermonuclear implications of that attack in and of itself, pointed to the second alternative.
. To see the relevant evidence clearly, the reader must recognize that there exist not one, but three distinct elements to be investigated in the aftermath of the Sept. 11th developments. First, there is the military coup-attempt itself, which might be described as the intended "detonator" of the operation as a whole. The worst possible result of this military plot, a potential, runaway thermonuclear-superpower-escalation, was avoided through a timely telephone conversation between U.S. President George W. Bush and Russia's President Vladimir Putin. Second, there is the general political-strategic factor of the "Clash of Civilizations" policy of Zbigniew Brzezinski, Samuel Huntington, et al., of which the attempted military coup was merely a subsumed part. That policy is the principal culprit, and the main body of the operation as a whole. That is the principal subject, and target of this report. This is the factor which continues to be reflected so vividly in the ferocious factional battle within the U.S. government and leading news media, the debate on such subjects as proposing escalation of war against Iraq. Third, there is the implicit suicide-bomber-like role of the current Israeli regime [4000 some Israelis who normally worked in the WTC were not there on Sep 11, so the Israeli connection is very believable], whose adducibly characteristic intention is to set off the wider war, a war which, among other results, would bring about the self-extermination of Israel as a state [not the Israelis’ intent, of course]. That increasingly evident risk of Israel's self-extermination, if it continues its present policies, had been the stated concern motivating Prime Minister Rabin's support for the Oslo Accords. These are the same Oslo Accords whose adoption was the motive for the Israeli coup d'état, by assassination, of Rabin. … It is the second of those three interconnected elements, on which official attention must be pivoted. Nonetheless, if we neglected any one among all three of those facets from the equation of Sept. 11th, no competent assessment of the events of that date were possible.

The facts behind that New Yorker story check out, and much more besides. -- Even a cursory look at the Arizona apparatus that installed John McCain in the U.S. Congress and Senate, makes it clear that the man sometimes rumored to be deserving of the name “Manchurian Candidate,” may also be kooky, but he is, essentially, just a front for organized crime. McCain married into the Sam Bronfman-created Arizona mob, which has run the state, top-down and bottom-up, since Prohibition. Kemper Marley, the man designated by Sam Bronfman as the whiskey king of the Southwest, put McCain's father-in-law in the beer distribution business, and that business is now the source of McCain's several hundred million dollar fortune--the basis of his entire political career. -- No wonder McCain was one of the “Keating Five,” the members of Congress who were implicated in the Michael Milken late-1980s junk-bond swindles. However, the danger from McCain comes chiefly through his ties to the Joe Lieberman whom William F. Buckley, Jr. and the far-right National Review gang brought into the Senate. It is the combination of known and dark connections between Lieberman and McCain, which has enabled the crew around Lieberman to hold U.S. policy-shaping hostage since the time of Senator Jeffords’ retirement from the Republican Party. -- My associates and I are currently working, at my prompting, to expose the ugly public record and other relevant facts about the Lieberman-McCain-Buckley-Steinhardt connection. When the broader public discovers what that record shows, as I know that record now, Joe Lieberman will not be qualified for mayor of East Dogpatch, Connecticut. Open the floodgates for new leadership of the Democratic Party, and we will be situated to reshape a bi-partisan environment around the Presidency. No one can guarantee success; but, since it is the only live option available in the short term, we must take it.

I don't know what to make of LaRouche. Anyone have reliable information on what his game is? The following is what I turned up at the pir.org namebase search:
LaRouche started as a sectarian leftist and self-styled intellectual in the late 1960s. By 1973 cadres from his National Caucus of Labor Committees launched "Operation Mop Up" and began beating up rival leftist groups. Within several years the NCLC stepped over that thin line between sectarian leftism and the right wing, and was cooperating with the KKK, Liberty Lobby, and law enforcement officials. In the early Reagan years, LaRouche's anti-Sovietism found expression through his lobbying on behalf of Star Wars and his access to U.S. intelligence and other officials. His publications such as Executive Intelligence Review are taken seriously by journalists and investigators because of their demonstrated access to occasional inside information. At the same time, LaRouche's people are understandably regarded with a certain amount of healthy suspicion.
LaRouchian political theory is a mixture of Kant, anti-Semitism, and paranoic tirades against everything from British empiricism to Oliver North. It is something of a mystery how LaRouche funds his organization, which is also active in Germany. He was convicted in 1988 of conspiracy, mail fraud, and tax evasion.

IMO, LaRouche is making a false dichotomy between the interests of the Democratic Party and Bush, and between the Saudis and Israel, and between Israel and the US elite. The evidence has shown all these groups to be cooperating. They all benefit from the terrorist attacks, and all of them are complicit in recent terrorism.
LaRouche is deliberately or unwittingly spreading disinformation to create a sense of drama and political friction where none exists.
It might be true that Lieberman and McCain represent the Israeli mob US faction and that the Bush administration represents the oil and defense industry mob faction but LaRouche hasnâ t demonstrated why these two factions would be at odds. I donâ t believe they are significantly at odds.
Iâ m not even mildly inclined to support LaRoucheâ s 2004 campaign. I donâ t trust the guy, though his economic criticism might have some merit.
