Strukton Firebombed AA 16-6-2010

A new consortium is going to build a new migrant detention centre at Schiphol Airport! One of the participants is Strukton which makes a profit out of the detention of people who will be deported.
That was one of the reasons for us, Anarchist Arsonists, to break the silence. We want to put action where our mouth is, so in the early hours of July the 16th we set fire to the head office of Strukton in Maarssen.
In the early hours of August 23rd The Anarchist Fire sabotaged the construction of a new migrant detention centre at Rotterdam Airport. They called on everyone to set fire to the systems that seek to destroy people. Meanwhile it is almost a year ago and nothing happened. Well, nothing happened? A new consortium is going to build a new migrant detention centre at Schiphol Airport! One of the participants is Strukton which makes a profit out of the detention of people who will be deported.

Our action is aimed at the horrible situation of incarcerated migrants. Fire is meant to destroy buildings and systems, not people as happened five years ago at Schiphol. We therefore call on people to help us in our struggle against the system which kills innocent people.

Brand
MAARSSEN – In de nacht van dinsdag 15 op woensdag 16 juni heeft brand gewoed in een bedrijf. De politie gaat uit van brandstichting en is een onderzoek gestart.
Rond 03.20 uur kreeg de politie een inbraakmelding bij een bedrijf aan de Planetenbaan. Ter plaatse bleek er echter brand in het pand te woeden en waren meerdere ruiten van het pand kapot, mogelijk door de hitte. De brandweer kwam ter plaatse en bluste de brand.
De politie gaat uit van brandstichting. Aan mensen die rond het tijdstip van de brand iets verdachts op of in de omgeving van de Planetenbaan hebben gezien, wordt verzocht contact op te nemen met de politie van district Rijn & Venen op telefoonnummer 0900-8844 of via Meld Misdaad Anoniem op telefoonnummer 0800-7000.

There seems to be a misunderstanding:
Strukton is not part of the consortium that will build the new deportation centre at Schiphol. At first it seemed that way.. but BAM won the contest.
But Strukton IS part of the consortium DC16 that has build the new detention and deportation centre at Rotterdam Airport. This centre is almost finished and will be taken into use in july.
DC16, so also Strukton, has a 25 year contract not only for building but also for maintaining and operating the centre, making this much money (apart from building, which alone is 100 million):
In 2010 (as of juli 2010): 3.513.000,- euro a year.
The following years until 2035: 7.027.000,- euro a year.
Schiphol:
Two consortia were in the race for Schiphol. JCSchiphol was one of them, and Strukton was also part of JCSchiphol (as were, again, Ballast Nedam and EGM architects), so they did want to, but didn't get it.
BAM has won.
