Anonymous hackt computers van Monsanto

De afgelopen twee dagen is de pesticide en zaden multinational Monsanto het doelwit geweest van de hackersgroep Anonymous. Op  http://pastebin.com/vrDGwuUH verscheen de onderstaande verklaring:
"Over the last 2 months we have pushed the exposure of hundreds of pages of articles detailing Monsanto's corrupt, unethical, and downright evil business practices. We've created a nice go-to reference guide on piratepad/anonpad(anonpad.org/opmonsanto, backed up elsewhere), where anyone can read up on and add their own info about MonsantoCo.
We blasted their web infrastructure to shit for 2 days straight, crippling all 3 of their mail servers as well as taking down their main websites world-wide. We dropped dox on 2500+ employees and associates, including full names, addresses, phone numbers, and exactly where they work. We are also in the process of setting up a wiki, to try and get all collected information in a more centralized and stable environment. Not bad for 2 months, I'd say.
What's next? Not sure... it might have something to do with that open 6666 IRC port on their nexus server though ;)

Op dat genoemde webadres http://www.anonpad.org/opmonsanto vind je een flinke verzameling documenten over Monsanto. Een link naar een lijst met Monsantomedewerkers lijkt al niet meer te werken. Dat zal er wel iets mee te maken hebben dat Monsanto justitie in heeft geschakeld.
Ondertussen gaat Monsanto gewoon door met het uitknijpen van boeren, vandaag weer in de VS bij boeren die het wagen om hun geoogste zaden opnieuw in te zaaien ( http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11194/1160101-100.stm). Maar de grootste slachtoffers van het bedrijf zijn toch vooral de kleine boeren in Zuid-Amerika, India en andere regio's in het Zuiden.
Ëén zo'n actie was dus helaas nog niet genoeg om dit bedrijf te stoppen. Dat blijft ook wel uit de koers van het aandeel dat vandaag 0,68% steeg. Maar het is in elk geval een mooi vervolg op de meer symbolische inspectie van Monsantie die ASEED vorig jaar uitvoerde.

Grote kans dat hierover de komende dagen nog wel meer in het nieuws verschijnt. Mogelijk lukt het Anonymous om een aantal compromitterende documenten openbaar te maken.

Ze posten regelmatig buitgemaakte emails met passwords (of hashes), zodat activisten de mailboxen kunnen leeghalen en analyseren.

De lijst staat hier. Om gezeik te voorkomen zal ik het maar niet kopieren, maar er staan oa 3 contactpersonen van Nederlandse bedrijven in. Verder nog wat europeanen en vooral amerikanen.

Wat tekst uit het artikel "Hacktivism moves from pranks to problems" dat ingaat op de hacktiviteiten van de afgelopen dagen:

Activisten van de hackersgroep Anonymous hebben hun pijlen op het Amerikaanse gentechbedrijf Monsanto gericht. In de afgelopen dagen wisten ze drie mailservers te hacken en meerdere websites van de agromultinational plat te leggen.

It's about time these guys are attacked, they control most of the gen technology in the US and abroad, and they claim to own crops...
they take a design from nature, change 0.1% of its make up, and then claim it for them selves. then they start suing all farmers that are re- seeding their seeds next season, and they look for farmers that do not use their seeds, and sue them for " stealing their technology " because the farmer next door is using the gen rubbish that blows over to their pastures. they use undercover investigators to go from farm to farm.
