Rechtzaak Varkensstal Nijmegen

Op 4 december 2025 hebben wij een rechtzaak gehad met betrekking tot onze bewoning van de Varkensstal, op de Van Schuylenburgweg 20. Dit is uiteindelijk uitgekomen op een schikking met de eigenaar, op basis waarvan wij op 1 februari het pand zullen verlaten, indien het dan ook in gebruik wordt genomen.

Als deel van die schikking zullen wij ook de kosten voor het gas, water en licht vergoeden, alsmede, indien vooraf doorgegeven, hoedemakers toegang verlenen tot het pand ter inspectie.
Jammer genoeg hebben we ook de compromis moeten sluiten dat we in het pand geen evenementen mogen houden. Wij hadden ontzettend veel zin om ons in te zetten voor de buurt, en hopelijk kunnen we dat ooit in de toekomst nog doen.
De komst van een opvang vinden we een groot goed, en dat willen we nu verder ook niet in de weg zitten, dus zodra de werkzaamheden daarvoor starten gaan we ook weg.
We hebben in ieder geval erg genoten van onze tijd in Dukenburg totzover, en met wat geluk komen we in de toekomst nog terug.

Court case of the Varkensstal
On the 4th of december 2025 we had a court case regarding our occupation of the Varkensstal, on the Van Schuylenburgweg 20 in Nijmegen. This ended in us making an agreement with the owners of the building, based on which we will leave the building on the 1st of february, provided the building is brought into use shortly after that.
As part of that agreement we will also pay the costs of gas, water and electricity, as well as allowing the owner access into the building for inspection and research, provided they give advance warning.
Sadly, part of the agreement was also that we would no longer hold events in the building, we were very excited to do something nice for the neighbourhood, and we hope that sometime in the future we will still be able to.
The creation of a shelter is something we think is very good, and we dont want to stand in the way of that, so when work on that starts we will be leaving as agreed.
In any case, we have enjoyed our time in Dukenburg so far, and with some luck we will be returning in the future.
