In Portugal there are several court cases taking place that are aimed to repress our comrades. The past months were intense and May was the peek. A demonstration took place on the 19th of May in Lisbon, in which we put some of our wishes in practice. It was important to break through the barriers that are imposed on us by political parties, syndicates and the new social movements. On this day, the 19th of May, we managed to attack several offices of political parties and banks. Until the end we managed to stay out of reach from the cops, however after the demonstration ended we got surrounded by a big police operation. Some people were identified and some of us got taken to the police station. The cops did not let our lawyers see the arrested, trying by all means to stop us from helping our comrades. It seemed like they wanted to keep one person over the weekend, this friend was targeted with completely constructed charges by the cops. Nevertheless we were more persistent to get the arrested out. All off the arrested were released on that same day.
Recently, after a bank filed a complaint, all the arrested got an extra charge for damaging a building.
Together with the media, the cops try to create a scenario which is a typical spectacle, manipulated at their command, of a sick reality. The cops and the media create imaginary structures, 'dangerous international connections' and call us radical extremists, to construct a tendentious image.
We want to be ourselves in all aspects, we know what we want and we won't give up while authority, oppression, prisons and courts exist in this world.
