We can no longer stand by and watch a university that shapes the future of our society become entangled in war crimes. WUR is the only university in the Netherlands that has not yet taken any steps to sever its ties with Israeli companies and institutions or at least critically analyse them through an ethical committee. What's more, after two years of persistent protests by students and staff in Wageningen, WUR has yet to engage in any serious and open dialogue with them. 

With this action, we want to warn the WUR board that there is a growing group of frustrated students and staff who will no longer accept that their board supports a genocidal state.  We feel compelled to damage the main building of WUR because we can no longer stand by and watch the violence that our university supports. The violence we are confronted with every day is unacceptable. Anyone who is still involved in the killing of 68,000 Palestinians is demonstrating immoral thinking and behaviour. Unfortunately, we have to conclude that this university is completely abandoning its fine values and principles. WURs collaborations with Israel go directly against their own slogan "for quality of life". They are working with institutions that are directly involved in the destruction of the lives of human beings and the environment.Students and staff have already tried every possible means to make our voices heard and to enter into dialogue with the board. When our university refuses to allow its students and staff to have a real say and decide on what we stand for as a university through democratic processes, we feel compelled to take matters into our own hands.
